Backups

As a person who use PCs every day the most important for me are backups.

Here are some ideas for backing up private data:

• Use external USB hard disks and rsync to make a 1:1 copy. It’s also a good choise to use tar to make archives. Consider to store the hard disks on multiple places.
• On Mac Time Machine is a good choise to make incremental backups. You can turn on and off automatic backups or make manually started backups.
• Use USB flash drives or CDs/DVDs to back up high sensitive data, like GPG keys.

You should encrypt your backups in any case. Encrypt your backups!
