StreamCloud Downloader

I’m not a fan of video streaming. I rather download files. So I coded a PHP script for downloading video streams from StreamCloud. This script simulates a webbrowser without using the JavaScript functions. You even don’t need to use Cookies to download the original video files from the StreamCloud server.

The following steps were required:

• Make a GET request.
• Parse with DOMDocument class the needed input fields of the Watch video now button.
• Make a POST request with the input fields after 10 seconds waiting time.
• Parse the response HTML string for the original URL.
• Download the original video file.

That was too easy. Come on StreamCloud, you can do it better!

Update, 2014-11-25: I stumbled over another useful tool called youtube-dl. youtube-dl is a small command-line program to download videos from YouTube.com and a few more sites. With youtube-dl you can download videos more than only from StreamCloud.
