Of all the people working in the project you are working on, what percentage really contribute?

A interesting question. All these project manager who don’t know what they are talking about, don’t contribute to a project.

A friend of mine once told me that in the company in which he’s working there are people who only talks at the beginning of a meeting. Such people in this company only introduce the meetings and welcome all meeting member. I ask him, what the hell is going on in this company? Why the hell is a company paying people for contribute … nothing? I don’t know.

It is clear to me, that there is a tremendous amount of wasted effort in any project that involves more that 2 people. This is what Clay Shirky calls the cost of coordination.
